IESO Nova Scotia opens competitive procurement process for critical electricity generation capacity to replace coal-fired power plants

IESO Nova Scotia has launched its first competitive procurement for new electricity resources, today issuing a Request for Proposals (RFP) for up to 600 megawatts of fast-acting generation capacity through one or two 300-megawatt natural gas generation facilities.

IESO Nova Scotia respectfully acknowledges that its work takes place in Mi’kma’ki, the ancestral and traditional territory of the Mi’kmaq People, covered by the Peace and Friendship Treaties. The ongoing relationship of the Mi’kmaq with these lands and waters is recognized and honoured.
