Federal decisions received on urgently needed fast-acting electricity generation projects

IESO Nova Scotia has received federal decisions confirming that proposed fast-acting generation facilities in Marshdale and Salt Springs do not require additional federal assessment, clearing an important step in efforts to strengthen grid reliability as the province transitions away from coal.

IESO Nova Scotia respectfully acknowledges that its work takes place in Mi’kma’ki, the ancestral and traditional territory of the Mi’kmaq People, covered by the Peace and Friendship Treaties. The ongoing relationship of the Mi’kmaq with these lands and waters is recognized and honoured.
